Decarbonization | Research and Data Visualization

Decarbonization | Research and Data Visualization

This project looks at India’s path to decarbonizing its construction sector - an industry built on materials like cement and steel that carry a heavy carbon footprint. With India’s COP26 pledge to reach net-zero by 2070, the question was simple: what will it actually take for this sector to change?

challenge.

My role was to go deep into the research, understand the policies, technologies, and on-ground realities, and then shape all of that into a narrative people can follow. I studied academic papers, industry reports, and government documents, pulling out the insights that matter: the cost barriers, the lack of incentives, the skill gaps, and why sustainable practices are still slow to take off.

From there, I translated the research into clear, visual communication - structuring the story, mapping stakeholders, simplifying data, and turning complex information into graphics and infographics that are easy to understand. The aim was to make the bigger picture visible: where the sector stands today, what’s holding it back, and what a low-carbon future could look like.

results.

In short, this project sits at the intersection of research and design -using visual storytelling to bring clarity to a topic that often feels technical and distant, and helping more people engage with India’s decarbonization journey.
